Police upgrades to Operational Level 3 due to severe weather

The Maldives Police Service has upgraded to Operational Level 3 amid the current severe weather conditions.

Police said the authority’s operational level was upgraded to level 3 to ensure public safety and provide assistance during the current conditions. The authority also provided details of its activities across Maldives to provide assistance to the public.

The law enforcement authority officials have been installing sand-bag barriers in various locations across Male’ and Hulhumale’ while neighborhood officers have visited to various buildings to provide instructions to the public on increasing safety measures.

police have also provided assistance to several houses in Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu atolls experienced flooding during Tuesday’s rainfall and drained the water from the roads.

The authority had also provided assistance to 40 residences in Haa Alifu atoll Ihavandhoo, 22 residences in Kelaa, and 55 residences in Baarah; all had experienced damages and setbacks during the heavy rainfall.

Both the north police region and south-central police have been active in safeguarding local residences and government buildings as well.

 

The police have been extending their support and assistance across all residential islands amid the severe weather conditions.
