The Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has increased the judicial allowance paid to employees at magistrate courts.

The DJA announced the allowance hike in a statement on Monday.

According to the department, the increment is effective starting August.

The allowance makes for 35 percent of the basic pay of employees of magistrate courts.

According to the DJA, the increment is the first change to the pay of employees of magistrate courts since 2015.

Until now, only employees of 11 out of 187 magistrate courts had received the allowance.
