Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) has urged to expedite elected-related record checks with sufficient time ahead of deadlines.

DJA, commenting on record checks for elections, said forms submitted in this trajectory will be accepted on non-working days as well.

While forms were accepted between 2:30pm and 5:30pm on Friday, forms will be accepted from 9:00am till 3:00pm on Saturday.

DJA said they are undertaking record checking with the deadline for candidacy submission for the presidential elections in mind, instead of the usual timeframe for record checking. Citing record checks to be time-consuming, they have urged to submit forms at least 48 hours prior.

The deadline for record checking is next Thursday. It has not been disclosed yet whether any candidate has submitted for record checks.
