Gender Ministry states it attended to 206 cases in March, the majority of which involved violence against children.
Gender Ministry released its case statistics for March on Tuesday.
According to Gender Ministry, it received reports of 98 different cases of violence against children in March, the highest number of which involved negligence.
29 cases involved negligence, and 28 involved physical abuse.
Meanwhile, 14 more cases involved witnessing domestic abuse, 13 involved sexual abuse, 9 involved emotional abuse, three involved victims of bullying and harassment, and one involved intimidation.
Gender Ministry also attended to 29cases of gender-based violence and domestic violence in March. 13 of the cases involved physical violence.
Gender Ministry attended to 18 cases involving family issues.
13 of the cases involved access to children, four involved parenting issues, and one involved custody or access issues.
Meanwhile, 25 cases were reported to the Gender Ministry in March involving care and support of the elderly and persons with disabilities.
It included 18 cases involving care and support for persons with disabilities, and seven cases involving care and support for the elderly.
Gender Ministry attended to 12 cases involving self-harm or suicidal behavior in March.
The ministry also attended to three cases involving children in conflict with the law, and 16 cases involving child behavioral problems.
There are 186 children under state care; 107 boys and 79 girls. Three children were taken into state care in March, while one was reintegrated with their family, two were placed with foster families, and one was reintegrated to the society with a job after turning 18 years of age.
