Tuition centre owner held over child abuse claim

A man who operates a tuition centre in Male' has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child. Police confirmed that a 27‑year‑old Maldivian man was taken into custody in connection with the case. He was arrested on February 11. He was subsequently presented before the court for a remand hearing, where the judge ordered him to be held in custody
