Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the harbor development project in ADh. Hangnameedhoo.

The project is valued at MVR 32.50 million.

Hangnameedhoo, with a population of 736 people, relied heavily on local tourism. Many of the people in Hangnameedhoo work in neighboring resorts or guesthouses in the island. The island is home to ten guesthouses with over 100 beds.

The expansion of local tourism in Hangnameedhoo has led to an increase in demand for big game fishing and excursions, leading to an increase in diving boats, dinghies, and speedboats.

MTCC said the replacement of the island’s old harbor with a larger and modern harbor provides great ease to the people of Hangnameedhoo.
