State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has commenced the provision of clean water service in ADh. Hangnaameedhoo.
The service was officially inaugurated during a ceremony held at the island on Monday by STELCO’s Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Latheef and Hangnaameedhoo Council President Moosa Nazim.
Following the launch of the service – STELCO states that all households and businesses that have applied for the service will now be supplied with clean water.
Hangnaameedhoo Council reports that 170 locations on the islands have been supplied with clean water.
Physical works on the establishment of clean water service at Hangnaameedhoo, carried out by Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), began in April 2021.
MWSC, in an earlier statement, said that MVR 21 million worth project saw the development of a six-kilometer main water pipe network, the installation of two RO plants and three water storage containers.
The water service at Hangnaameedhoo will be managed by STELCO.
