MTCC commences physical work on Muli airport

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced physical work on the project to develop an airport in M. Muli.

MTCC was contracted to design and develop the airport within one year by Planning Ministry on February 28.

The commencement of the physical work on the project was marked in a ceremony in Muli on Tuesday, attended by MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim, other senior MTCC officials, and Dhiggaru MP Ikram Hassan.

The Muli airport development project is valued at MVR 221 million, and will involve reclaiming 14 hectors of land, coastal protection of an 1,812-meter area, building a 1,200-meter-long and 30-meter-wide runway, a taxiway and an apron.
