IUM opens enrollment for Jan 2026 intake; offers 68 courses

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has opened applications for its January 2026 intake.

According to IUM, spots are available from 68 different courses, including three PhD-level courses, 17 Masters-level courses, one post-graduate diploma course, 15 Bachelors-level courses, one associate degree course, 11 diploma-level courses, and 20 certificate-level courses.

The fields of study include Quran and hadith, sharia and law, Fiqh, Islamic studies, imamship, language, education, counselling, finance, accounting, leadership and administration, management, and journalism.

The courses are also available from IUM’s learning centers in Fuvahmulah City, Addu City’s Meedhoo, Thinadhoo City, R. Ungoofaaru, Lh. Naifaru, and L. Fonadhoo.

IUM noted that all degree-level courses offered at the university’s Male’ campus and learning centers across the country are 100 percent tuition-free under the government’s ‘free degree’ initiative.

The university offers flexible learning options, offering both online and blended classes.

Applications can be submitted to IUM’s reception in Male’, as well as its learning centers located at the Ungoofaaru Islamic Center, in the former Nooraanee Pre-school building in Naifaru, the former Siraajuddin Pre-School in Fonadhoo, the Thinadhoo City Islamic Center, the former Miskihmagu Women’s Committee building in Fuvahmulah, and Shamsuddhin Learning Center in Addu.

The applications deadline is 01:00 pm December 31.
