1,070 students graduate from Zikura College

1,070 students graduated from the Zikura International College on Friday evening, in a convocation ceremony held in Fuvahmulah City.

Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed served as chief guest of the ceremony, which saw 1,070 graduates – 907 females and 163 males – receive their certificates.

The students successfully completed courses in:

• Diploma in Office Management
• Diploma in Business Management
• Bachelor of Human Resource Management
• Bachelor of Teaching Secondary Mathematics
• Bachelor of Primary Teaching
• Bachelor of Teaching Arabic Language
• Bachelor of Teaching Quran
• Master of Teaching Quran
• Master of Inclusive Education

Addressing the ceremony, Shaheem said that graduates will face numerous challenges when they enter the workforce.

He urged graduates to enter the workforce while wearing fabric of Islamic values, and understand that Islam is a religion that promotes the spread of knowledge and enlightenment.

“Therefore, the beloved graduates who enter the Maldivian workforce must wear the fabric of Islamic values, embrace Islamic philosophy, understand that the religion of Islam is not just differences in Fiqh, but one that promotes development and prosperity, and fits with modern times,” he said.

Addressing the ceremony, Zikura College’s Vice Rector Hussain Saeed said the college remains committed to striving to smoothen the journey it began nine years ago to spread knowledge.

Saeed said that through the college’s efforts to realize its goals and vision, it has established itself as a successful college, on par with premier colleges in the country.

Saeed said the college remains committed to its goal of providing quality education and producing capable graduates for the Maldivian workforce.
