The third edition of the International Conference on Technology, Humanities and Management – organized by the Zikura International College – commenced on Tuesday in Fuvahmulah City.
The ICTHM 2025 - taking place from Sunday to Wednesday under the theme “Sustainable Futures: Managing the Human Digital Shift” – is being attended by academicians from Maldives and abroad.
Opening the conference, Dr. Abdulla Rasheed Ahmed, advisor at the Zikura International College, said that the research papers submitted for the ICTHM 2025 cover crucial areas for the Maldives; information technology, economy, environment, health, and anti-corruption.
Rasheed said that to demonstrate the Zikura International College’s commitment to promoting research, the college will launch an annual research grant program for its staff this year.
This year’s conference attended by Tan Sri Dato' Sri Haji Azam Bin Baki, the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Addressing the conference, Azam Bin Baki, the chief guest of this year’s conference, named corruption as the biggest obstacle to development of countries.
He said that technological advancements have made it even harder to control corruption.
The ICTHM 2025 will see the presentation of 36 research papers – including from Malaysia, Thailand, and other Asian countries. It will also see two panel discussions and six keynote speeches from local and international experts.
The ICTHM 2025 is hosted by the Fuvahmulah City Council and co-organized by the Accounting Research Institute of Malaysia’s Universiti Teknologi MARA and Thailand’s Rangsit University International College.
Zikura International College is the only college in the Maldives to be headquarters outside the capital Male’ City.
