Police arrest suspect of campaign office arson

Maldives Police Service on Thursday, has apprehended one suspect believed to have set ablaze a campaign office in Kulhudhuffushi City.

The arson incident was reported earlier on April 16th, 2024.

Police said they summoned a 31 year old Maldivian male around 14:55hrs under a court order.

The law enforcement authority added they were investigating the matter further, though no further details about the incident is available at the moment.

Violent confrontations and destruction to property are sometimes reported during or after political campaigns and voting.
