The opposition PPM-PNC coalition’s candidate, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledges to introduce a special allowance for thalassemia patients if elected to office.
In a campaign rally in R. Dhuvaafaru on Tuesday, Muizzu said the administration he establishes will not only focus on infrastructure and economic development.
He said that he will pay special focus on areas that the current administration has neglected, in order to build a “kind society.”
He said that he plans on introducing a monthly allowance for thalassemia patients, which will provide a great financial ease for thalassemia patients and their families.
Muizzu preciously pledged to arrange for free bone marrow transplants for thalassemia patients. He also pledged to increase the monthly allowance paid to single mothers to MVR 3,000 per child, and the allowance to hafizes to MVR 4,000.
He also pledged to introduce a retirement allowance.
