Alamgiri – the expatriate involved in sexual misconduct arrested

Alamgiri – the man who has admitted to having been involved in sexual relations with multiple high-profile men in Maldives has been arrested.

Sun has learned that he was arrested under a court order at 15:00 on Tuesday. At the time of arrest, he was in the guest house where he lives, located in Maafannu.

Maldives Police Services has yet to make any comments on the matter.

Of the numerous videos recently leaked involving sexual misconduct, Almagiri was featured in multiple.

Videos and photos of at least three high-profile individuals engaging in sexual relations were leaked on social media in the past weeks.

The first was a video that allegedly shows Ahmed Nazim Abdul Sattar, a prominent lawyer and the younger brother of Parliament speaker, former president Mohamed Nasheed, engaging in sexual relations with a Bangladeshi man – Alamgiri.

The second was a photo that allegedly shows South Henveiru MP Hussain Shaheem (Andhun Hussain) naked on a bed with a man and a woman.

The third was a video that allegedly shows former journalist Abdulla Naseer Ibrahim engaging in sexual acts.

Meanwhile, the fourth was of former Nolhivaram MP Mohamed Nasheed (Colonel Nasheed) in the same room with Alamgiri.

Sun has obtained a video in which Alamgiri apologizes – also announcing repentance.

In the video, he states that he is a very poor person, who is unaware of right and wrong. Showing himself repent, he appealed to Maldivian citizens to forgive him.

“I have repented. All Maldivian citizens, please forgive me,” he had said.

Alamgiri has also been barred from travel as the investigation against him continues.
