Judge Ibrahim Mahir has been appointed by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) to temporarily take over the management of the Family Court.

The appointment comes after the court’s former chief judge, Huzaifa Mohamed was appointed to the High Court on Monday.

Three different judges have taken over the management of the Family Court so far this year. Judge Hassan Saeed had served as chief judge before Huzaifa’s appoint back in March.

Huzaifa’s recent appointment leaves the position of Family Court’s chief judge vacant. However, JSC has yet to open applications for the vacancy.
