IUM to hold an Islamic forum for the public

An Islamic forum previously held by the Islamic University of Maldives.

Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) has announced their decision to hold an Islamic forum that will be open for participation from the public.

IUM’s Faculty of Quran and Sunnah’s Dean Al-Sheikh Mohamed Mansoor said that the forum is part of a series of forums held annually by the faculties of the university, which is open for participation from the public.

He detailed that the theme for this year’s forum is ‘Entrepreneurship in light of the Holy Quran’.

Mansoor said that the topic was chosen as entrepreneurship is noted as a useful skillset across the world.

“The importance of entrepreneurship is evident within the current society. Therefore, we have decided this year’s theme for the forum will be Entrepreneurship in light of the Holy Quran,” he had said.

He stressed that questions raised by members of public will be answered in an academic light during the forum.

Mansoor said that the purpose of holding the forum is to increase awareness amongst the public as well as to build a society that have their eyes opened to events unfolding on earth.

He noted other purposes of the forum to be clarifying events unfolding on earth in the perspective of Islam and Sunnah and ensuring that IUM is an entity which works closely with the public.

The forum is scheduled to take place at 8:30pm on Monday, at IUM’s Hall.
