Police seize large quantities of items suspected to be drugs from Male'

Maldives Police Service searched a pickup from Sosanmagu in Male’, and seized large quantities of items suspected to be drugs.

In the special operation, Police stopped the pickup and conducted a search at around 08:30 AM on Sunday. The area was closed off to the public at the time.

Photos circulating social media show Police officers searching through a large number of cardboard boxes on the road.

Additionally, about 10 large rubber packets of substances suspected to be drugs were seen from the photos.

However, Police have yet to reveal any information regarding this incident.

Authorities have recently been seizing large amounts of drugs and arrests have been made in relation to that in various operations.

In one such operation, 12.6 kilos of drugs were seized from an operation conducted in Hulhumale Phase I and Phase II.
