Active cases at Mahibadhoo increased to 85 after being placed under monitoring a week ago

The number of active cases in ADh. Mahibadhoo has increased to 85 – just merely a week after the island was placed under monitoring following the detection of COVID-19 cases.

Mahibadhoo was placed under monitoring on November 30.

ADh. Atoll’s Focal Point Suhaana Adam told Sun today that Mahibadhoo that has been placed under monitoring twice before, was placed under monitoring this time as three individuals who consulted at the flu clinic with colds – have tested positive for COVID-19.

Statistics released by ADh. Atoll Hospital which is situated at Mahibadhoo shows that a total of 97 individuals have tested positive from the island – out of which 12 have made full recoveries.

The statistics show that when the island was placed under monitoring, a total of 32 individuals has tested positive. A total of 65 individuals have tested positive since the island was placed under monitoring.

However, Suhana said that none of the patients are in serious condition. She further detailed that eight individuals tested positive yesterday alone. They were direct contacts to those have tested positive previously.

ADh. Maamgili was also placed under monitoring recently, on December 6.
