Health Protection Agency (HPA) has removed ADh. Mahibadhoo from monitoring mechanisms.
A letter sent to Mahibadhoo Council - signed by Director-General of Public Maimoona Aboobakuru – stated that monitoring mechanisms on the island has been lifted as of today’s 15:13.
The letter read that HPA saw no further reasons to impose monitoring mechanisms at Mahibadhoo – consequent to their review of the COVID-19 situation on the island under the Public Health Act.
Mahibadho was placed under monitoring mechanisms on August 28 – after two direct contacts to a 17-year-old who had tested positive for the virus had also ended up being positive.
The island has been placed under monitoring mechanisms on two instances prior to this.
