MT Hojgaard awarded Kudarikilu shore protection project

MT Hojgaard Pvt. Ltd. has signed a contract with Planning Ministry for a shore protection project in B. Kudarikilu. 

The project is valued at MVR 14,749,900. 

The contract was signed by Planning Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Zeenia Ahmed Hameed and MT Hojgaard's Senior Project Manager Jorgen Feldborg Skaarup on Thursday. 

Planning Ministry said MT Hojgaard was awarded the design and build contract to solve the beach erosion facing Kudarikilu. 

The project will involve building three 100-meter breakwaters in the eastern end the island, and one 150-meter breakwater, in addition to beach profiling and beach filling in the eastern and southern end of the island. 

MT Hojgaard is contracted to complete the project within 180 days. 

MT Hojgaard is also the contractor of the harbor development project in Kudarikilu.
