Police arrest 2 in alcohol bust operation

Two individuals have been arrested in Male; after being found in possession of alcohol inside a car.

The two individuals were found in possession of alcohol in an operation by the Police Drug Enforcement Department (DED) and the Drug Intelligence unit of Police. 

Two Maldivian males aged 27 and 28 were arrested in the operation.

Police said that 96 cans of beer as well as 12 bottles of alcohol were confiscated in the bust. The Criminal Court released the 28-year old individual while remanding the 27-year old to ten days in custody. 

The case is under investigation by the authorities.
