Police destroy 190 kgs of confiscated drugs

Police had destroyed a total of 190.15 kgs of drugs seized in operations.

The drugs were destroyed yesterday in Dhoonidhoo and were destroyed under the supervision of a committee formed by the Prosecutor General’s Office to oversee drugs confiscated as evidence.

Among the destroyed drugs, include items seized in raids from 2009 to 2016. 

They include 41,926 rubber packets, 16,342 cellophane packets, 536 empty film containers, 911 bullets, 649 joints, 2,334 pills as well as 25,146 other items. They include accessories to items for drug use. 

Drugs destroyed also include 51.16351 kgs of heroin, 41,19352 cannabis, 197 grams of amphetamines, 2.05711 grams of methamphetamines racemate, 173.88 grams of Nitrazepam, 113.66 grams of MDM, and 6.60065 kgs of cocaine.
