Police have announced a contact number for members of the public to call regarding necessary outings.

In a tweet issued tonight, police requested members of the public to call 3034444 and register before leaving the house.

In a news conference earlier tonight, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen stated that the number should be contacted for necessary purposes or assistance.

“The caller can inform where and why they are going outside. It is important that everyone keep their id cards on them,” said Naveen.

Arrangements are also being made for people to travel between Thilafushi, Hulhumale’ and Vilimale’. Those stranded in locations other than their homes can contact the number to be announced tonight. Special permits for duty employees of Customs and Immigration are also being formed.

Food delivery services can still operate under the passes previously issued for the curfew. Delivery services can operate from 19:00 to 00:00. More delivery passes will be issued tomorrow based on the outcome for tonight.
