Home Ministry has raised concerns regarding the statement issued by the Human Rights Commission (HRCM) regarding the former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb.
The Ministry sent a letter to the relevant authorities today said that further inquiry into the HRCM statement found that the former Vice President was taken back to prison against the medical advise of the Urologist at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
A letter sent from the Home Ministry to the State Minister, Ali Nazeer, today said that the Ministry has concerns regarding the HRCM statement and are looking into them.
When the State Minister was asked in regards to the nature of the concerns, State Minister Nazeer said that he cannot comment on it at this time.
He said that the government will always work to fully ensure the human rights of the people, including those in the prisons, within the Constitution.
Three days after he was taken back to prison, Adeeb was brought back on Saturday and admitted at IGMH.
