Maldives Police Service has launched Public Feedback – an online portal aimed at increasing public participation in the campaign to develop and reform the agency.

The online portal was launched by Acting Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed during the management board meeting of MPS held at Iskandhar Building this Wednesday morning.

In his speech after launching the online portal, Hameed said the purpose of Public Feedback was to increase public participation and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency.

Hameed provided assurance the feedback submitted via the online portal will be monitored and forwarded to relevant departments for necessary improvements.

He also said the feedback submitted by the public via the online portal by February 15 will directly contribute to the new strategic plan of the police.

The Public Feedback online portal is part of the administration’s goal to establish a police reform program with contribution of both police officers and members of the general public within the administration’s first 100 days.

The public can now send in their recommendations to the police via the online portal to www.police.gov.mv or www.policelife.mv.

MPS says it also plans on holding focus group discussions, forums and a police reform symposium as part of the police reform program.
