Police have successfully recovered property and money totaling MVR 212,870 from Hulhumale' Phase I and II, which were reported missing in various cases filed throughout July.
According to police statistics, the Hulhumale' Phase I police station conducted extensive patrols in July, checking 21,458 locations and dedicating 657 hours to foot patrols. During these operations, 1,249 individuals were stopped and questioned, including 589 with prior criminal records and 786 without.
An overview of the properties acquired in July from Phase I includes:
Two motorcycles: MVR 60,000
11 Mobile phones: MVR 75,000
Five electronics: MVR 10,000
MVR 1,925 in cash
42 other items, including ID cards and cash cards

In Hulhumale’ Phase II, police statistics indicate that 8,030 locations were checked, and 470 hours and 25 minutes were spent on foot patrols in July. These patrols led to the questioning of 389 people, comprising 89 without criminal records and 300 with criminal records.
An overview of the properties acquired in July from Phase II includes:
MVR 62,045 in cash
MVR 3,900 worth of other items
Police officials stated that special "stop and search operations" are being conducted in identified crime hotspots. They noted that a significant percentage of those stopped and searched have previous criminal records.
Police emphasized that this outcome is not coincidental but rather the result of an intelligence-based strategy aimed at preventing and interfering with crime before it occurs.
