The new masterplan unveiled for Hulhumale’ on Monday includes the plan to build a 100-meter tower, which the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) says is designed to create a “second identity” for the suburban island as a financial district.
The new revisions to the masterplan was inaugurated by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in a ceremony held in Hulhumale’ on Monday morning.
Highlighting on the masterplan, HDC’s Chief Planning Officer Ahmed Zinaf explained that the masterplan includes an initiative to build an “iconic tower” at the edge of Farukolhufushi.

According to Zinaf, this 100-meter tower is designed to create a “second identity” for Hulhumale’.
“One of the purposes of this is to make this the first thing that people think of when they think of Hulhumale’. Another purpose of this tower is to create more jobs with the establishment of a financial district,” he said.
The first thing that comes to the minds of most people when Hulhumale’ is mentioned is the Hiyaa towers located in Phase II.
Zinaf believes that the 100-meter tower will create a second identity for Hulhumale’.
