Police probe nonpayment of salaries of south catering staff

Maldives Police Service has launched an investigation into allegations claiming nonpayment of salaries for southern catering staff.

Police launched the investigation after south catering staff protested in front of the company’s office situated at Alikileygefaanu Magu.

In a message to the media, Police said the issue of irregular payment of salaries to south catering staff has come to their attention and therewith, its Anti-Human Trafficking Department was investigating the matter.

The Police did not disclose the exact number of months the staff have not been paid.
