Injured man rescued from waters off Male’

The police have rescued a man from the waters off the Dharumavantha Hospital in Male’ City.

According to the police, the man was found injured in the waters outside the seawall on Wednesday afternoon.

The police identified him as a Maldivian male.

He was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), which said he had head injuries.

Videos of the incident showed a huge crowd gathered in the area as the police and civilians rescued the man and transported him to land on a stretcher. He appeared conscious in the videos, moving his hands.

The police later said that the man was believed to have sustained his injuries after getting hit by a vessel.

The case is under investigation by the police.
