Students going abroad for studies urged to register with embassies

Foreign Ministry’s Secretary, Bilateral Dr. Haala Hameed urges local students going abroad for studies urged to register with Maldivian embassies established at the respective nation.

Foreign Ministry’s Secretary, Bilateral Dr. Haala Hameed has urged Maldivian students departing to study abroad to register with the Maldivian embassy established in the respective nation.

Haala made the appeal while speaking at a function organized by the Higher Education Ministry for students who have received scholarships from Türkiye and are set to depart soon.

In this regard, she underscored the importance of students departing abroad registering with the Maldivian embassy established in the respective nation, citing it would ease the process of communication with students at times needed.

“I assure all Maldivian students residing at Türkiye for their studies will be rendered all the assistance they require by the Maldivian Embassy in the nation. Henceforth, I urge all students departing for their studies to register with the embassy,” she said.

Speaking further, Haala attributed the scholarships awarded for Maldivian students by Türkiye to the success of the visit undertaken by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu nation shortly after assuming office in November. She also highlighted the importance of students studying in Türkiye to familiarizing themselves with the nation’s customs and culture.

The scholarship opportunities by Türkiye include slots for Bachelors’ Degree, Masters’ Degree and PhD. 14 students were selected for the scholarship of which 11 are set to depart soon.
