Police have rescued a woman from a Hiyaa apartment who was repeatedly heard crying for help after forcefully entering the apartment and arrested two men who refused to open the door at the instructions of officers.

The two men arrested have been identified as Ahmed Uwais, 20, H. Laamiya and Mohamed Mumeeth, 39, Ma. Three Moons.

In a message to the media, Police said they attended to the Hiyaa apartment after a woman inside was heard crying and screaming to save her.

They detailed that a man initially opened the door when the Police went to assess the situation and replied that nothing was going on before closing and locking the door.

However, the Police said the woman was heard screaming again. They noted that officers had repeatedly requested to open the door, which had gone unanswered, before using force to enter the premises to rescue the woman.

They did not specify why the woman was screaming to be saved or whether she was injured at the time she was rescued.

The case is under investigation by the Police.
