Maldives Immigration arrested three expatriates on Tuesday morning, after they were found preparing and packing food products in a rundown house in Male’ City.
According to Immigration, the raid was conducted in response to a report lodged via the ‘Immigration Watch.’
The agency said the house it raided was severely rundown, making it unfit for human inhabitation.
Immigration took three undocumented expatriates into custody in the raid.
The agency said it found a large quantity of food products sold in convenience stores from the house. Photos shared by the agency shows that some of the products that was being prepared at the house included gulha, athujehi, killi, theluli faiy and roasted peas.
It has shared the information with relevant authorities.
Immigration and police have raided over 200 locations in a joint operation against illegal expatriates in the Maldives. The locations raided include shops, markets, takeaway coffee shops, cafes and spas.
