Notably, undocumented migrant workers engaging in illegal businesses has been a persistent issue in the Maldives. Immigration, last Tuesday night, shut down four massage parlors from which they detained three undocumented migrant workers.
Massage parlors have long been used as a front for prostitution. Such businesses have been shut down in various operations.
Immigration has raided numerous locations as part of ongoing efforts to identify and detain migrants in the Maldives engaged in illegal business activities which have seen the detention of dozens of migrants, including undocumented ones.
