Man arrested for violence amid fire at Male’ home

Police have arrested an individual for violence amid a huge fire at a home in Male’ City in the early hours of Monday.

The fire broke out at Orchid Plaza, a vacant building, located at Buruzu Magu.

Police, in a message to the media, said the fire was reported to the authorities at 3:32am on Monday morning.

They confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

Police also noted that a Maldivian man was arrested from the road, amid the fire, for violence.

Sun has learned that three people were arrested from the scene.

However, no further details regarding the arrestees have been disclosed by the Police, who have said they are investigating the case.

An individual who resides in the neighborhood told Sun that drug addicts use the vacant building as a drug den.
