Fire breaks out in Male’ home; four injured

Four people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation on Thursday, after a fire broke out in a home in the Maafannu district of Male’ City.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the fire broke out on the third floor of Enzian, located in Flooniya Magu, on Thursday afternoon.

MNDF’s firefighters are at the scene.

The police had initially reported two injuries.

However, the MNDF later said that four people were taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for smoke inhalation.

An eyewitness told Sun that the fire has now been controlled. However, thick clouds of smoke continue to rise from the building.
