Vinares apartment fire: Four arranged temporary housing

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) states four people have been temporary housing following the fire at an apartment in Vinares Flat No. 9 at Hulhumale’ Phase II on Monday morning.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), via a message to the media on Monday morning, said they received a report of smoking coming out of the sixth apartment on the 13^th floor of Vinares Flat No. 9 at approximately 7:41am.

NDMA said the apartment recorded extensive damage in the fire, making it uninhabitable for the residents.

As such, the authority detailed that they have arranged temporary housing for four of the apartment’s residents for a period of five days, along with meal provisions. Two of the residents were also provided clothing.

No one was injured in the fire.
