Ooredoo donates essential healthcare equipment to 28 health centers

Ooredoo Maldives has donated essential healthcare equipment to health centers located in 28 islands across Maldives, under its commitment to support good health across communities.

According to Ooredoo, the health centers that received the health kits include all centers in HA. Atoll and HDh. Atoll, and the B. Kudarikilu Health Center, K. Thulusdhoo Health Center, and ADh. Maamigili Health Center.

Ooredoo launched the initiative to donate health kits to all health centers in Maldives back in March, as part of its efforts to promote good health in line with its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The health kits include essential health equipment such as stethoscope, digital sphygmomanometer, pulse oximeter, otoscope, digital thermometer and a nebulizer machine.

Ooredoo Maldives’ Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz said the company is a firm believer in access to quality essential healthcare for each and every one.

“Understanding the need for updated digital essential equipment to health centers across the nation, it is our utmost delight to donate these kits and enable the health centers to provide quality healthcare to its people,” he said. “We are committed to continuing this initiative and provide the health kits to all health centers across the nation.”

Due to the amplified the urgency and importance of maintaining good health and wellness post pandemic, Ooredoo Maldives committed to support and promote health and wellness as its CSR focus for the year 2022.

Ooredoo Maldives continues to extend its support to councils, recreational clubs and has sponsored several tournaments across Maldives to promote and encourage Maldivian communities to take on a healthier lifestyle.

Ooredoo Maldives has continued to support communities with both digital solutions and relief measures since the beginning of the pandemic, providing critical connectivity support, mass awareness on COVID-19 prevention and relief, and digital solutions which enable online education, health services and enterprises.

Together with Ooredoo Group, Ooredoo Maldives donated MVR 2.5 million to Maldivian government to acquire necessary equipment and supplies to combat the pandemic.

The company has also donated sea ambulances, installed with a state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems, fully equipped with oxygen cylinders along with other items of essential safety equipment.

Ooredoo Maldives said it remains committed to continuing to enrich the lives of the Maldivian people with innovative solutions leveraging on its platforms and resources.
