Ooredoo to donate health kits to all health centers in Maldives

Ooredoo Maldives has announced an initiative to donate essential health kits to all health centers across Maldives.

The initiative to donate health kits to 167 health centers across Maldives was announced during a meeting between Health Minister Ahmed Naseem and Ooredoo Maldives’ CEO and Managing Director Khalid Al-Hamadi.

According to Ooredoo Maldives, the health kits will include essential health equipment such as stethoscope, digital sphygmomanometer, pulse oximeter, otoscope, digital thermometer and a nebulizer machine. 

Ooredoo Maldives states the initiative was part of its efforts to promote good health in line with its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and aims to help health centers provide essential and necessary care at all corners of the nation. 

Ooredoo Maldives said that the COVID-19 pandemic had amplified the urgency and importance of maintaining good health and wellness. 

The company has therefore planned several activities and initiatives that support and promotes health and wellness as its CSR focus for the year 2022.

Ooredoo Maldives has extended its support to councils, recreational clubs and sponsored several tournaments across Maldives to promote and encourage communities to take on a healthier lifestyle.

The company has held the Ooredoo Color Run every year since 2017 – a top event where people of all ages participates in 5 km fun run that permeates the importance of staying active.

Ooredoo Maldives has continued to support communities with both digital solutions and relief measures since the beginning of the pandemic, providing critical connectivity support, mass awareness on COVID-19 prevention and relief, and digital solutions which enable online education, health services and enterprises.

Together with Ooredoo Group, Ooredoo Maldives donated MVR 2.5 million to Maldivian government to acquire necessary equipment and supplies to combat the pandemic.

The company has also donated sea ambulances, installed with a state-of-the-art navigation and communication systems, fully equipped with oxygen cylinders along with other items of essential safety equipment.

Ooredoo Maldives said it remains committed to continuing to enrich the lives of the Maldivian people with innovative solutions leveraging on its platforms and resources.
