153 marriages, 102 divorces in September

Records released by Family Court show it registered 153 marriages and 102 divorces in September.

The records show an increase in divorce petitions submitted last September compared to the previous month. As such, 134 divorce petitions were filed in September, which is more than double the 60 divorce petitions filed in August.

Meanwhile, the court officiated 153 marriages in September. 188 marriages were officiated in August.

The records show seven domestic violence cases were submitted to the court in September. The court issued six emergency protective orders during the period.

Judgements in four domestic violence cases remain pending.

The court completed total 210 cases in September. It includes 141 divorce cases, 18 cases related to children, 18 cases related to child support, seven cases related to domestic violence, and 26 cases related to other family disputes.

121 divorce petitions filed in September remains unresolved, along with 34 cases related to children, 12 cases related to child support, four cases related to domestic violence, and 18 cases related to other family disputes.
