Ooredoo partners with Jalboot to ease access to SIM cards for tourists

Local telecom operator, Ooredoo Maldives on Wednesday, entered to a strategic partnership with Jaboot Maldives, a pioneer in marine service in the Maldives, to facilitate easy access for SIM cards to tourists whilst aboard on vessels operated by the latter.

The partnership was announced at a signing ceremony held at Ooredoo Maldives’ Head Office which was attended by Managing Director of Ooredoo, Khalid Al-Hamadi, Managing Director of Jalboot Mohamed Roestali and the management of both companies.

Ooredoo said that the partnership is aimed at improving the customer experience for tourists during their stay in the Maldives by easing their access to connectivity services.

The telecom operator stressed the importance of reliable connectivity in today’s travel industry to provide top-notch services and for tourists to stay updated on news, stay connected with friends and family and to attend business matters while traveling.

Ooredoo states that the initiative also falls in line with the company’s efforts to support the Maldivian tourism industry.

Under this partnership, Jalboot customers will be able to acquire connectivity solutions directly from the vessels without having to go through the hassle of going to any counter or shop.

“And with this strategic partnership with Jalboot Maldives, our aim is to ease access to connectivity where tourists can acquire SIM cards directly from the vessels,” Ooredoo’s MD Al-Hamadi had said.

Jalboot’s MD Roestali said that communication and technology are vital for the company’s growth, whilst Ooredoo is known for its revolutionary digital services.

“With a common mission to enrich the lives of our community, together we will enhance customer experience,” he added.

Ooredoo reiterated that the company remains committed to supporting the Maldivian tourism industry through its digital services as the industry marks its 50th anniversary, by connecting visitors to their friends and family during their stay in the Maldives and supporting the stakeholders in the provision of exceptional innovative services.
