Kazakhstan has begun offering Maldivian travelers on-arrival visa of up to 30 days.

Maldivian Foreign Ministry said Kazakhstan began granting on-arrival visa to Maldivian travelers on Wednesday, September 14.

Maldives and Kazakhstan had signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements, allowing for the exemption from visa requirements for both country’s nationals, for single or multiple entry, exit or transit, for a period of 30 days, back in May.

However, Maldivian travelers who stay in Kazakhstan for longer than 30 days, or are in the country for educational, medical or business purposes will need to apply for visa.

Foreign Ministry described the travel easement as evidence of the further strengthening of ties between Maldives and Kazakhstan.
