Maldives and Kazakhstan sign visa waiver agreement

Maldives and Kazakhstan an agreement on mutual exemption of visa requirements on Monday, which allows for the exemption from visa requirements for both country’s nationals, for single or multiple entry, exit or transit, for a period of 30 days.

The agreement was signed by Maldivian State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Kazakhstan Ambassador to Maldives Nurlan Zhalgasbayev.

Speaking at the ceremony today, Khaleel thanked the Kazakhstan government for their commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Maldives and Kazakhstan.

He described the signing of this agreement as an important milestone that will facilitate stronger people to people contact, and increase business and investment opportunities for both the Maldives and Kazakhstan.

Maldives has signed similar agreements with Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Russia, Morocco and China in recent years.
