VIA sets new air traffic movement record

Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday, February 19, broke a new record for air traffic movement in a single day. 

According to Maldives Airports Company (MACL), a total of 839 movements were recorded on Sunday, January 2, 2022.

We are pleased to announce that on 19th February 2022, @VelanaAirport
set a new Air Traffic Movement (ATM) record.
There were 210 runway ATMs and 629 seaplane ATMs.
A total of 839 ATMs were made, setting a new record.

This figure includes 210 runway movements and 629 seaplane movements. 

 

The previous record was 826 air traffic movements within a day, recorded on January 5, 2020. On that day, 233 runway movements and 593 seaplane movements were recorded.
