Over 89,000 tons of cargo passed through the Velana International Airport (VIA) last year, marking a 10 percent increase in annual cargo movements.
VIA shared its statistics for 2025 in a post on X on Monday.
According to the statistics, the airport handled 89,163 tons of cargo last year.
This included 66,840 tons of inbound cargo and 22,323 tons of outbound cargo.
VIA also saw a 22 percent increase in transshipments with 16,372 tons of cargo, including 3,192 tons of sea-to-air cargo and 13,180 tons of air-to-air cargo.
The airport saw 524 freighter movements with 4,300 tons of throughput.
The airlines that moved cargo through the VIA includes Afcom, Fly Vaayu, Mjets, Qatar Cargo, National Airlines, AirMaster, and MNG Airlines.
