Met Office issues yellow alert for most of Maldives

Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has issued a yellow weather alert for most of the regions of the Maldives due to anticipated bad weather.

The alert issued at 12:00 is set to expire at 16:00.

The office warned that areas from H.A. Atoll to L. Atoll could experience strong winds with thunderstorms. 

Wind speeds are anticipated to be around 25-30 miles per hour, rising to 50-55 miles per hour during gusts.

Seas across the nation are expected to be rough. However, for the regions where the alert if issued for, seas are expected to be even severe.

For the next two or three days, the weather is expected to continue like this, and Met Office warned travelers to remain wary of the weather.
