Masked muggers attack a migrant worker in Kulhudhuffushi

A migrant worker in Kulhudhuffushi City was attacked with an iron rod and had his wallet stolen by two masked muggers on Tuesday.

Maldives Police Service identified the victim as a Bangladeshi male.

He had been attacked while walking on the street at approximately 10:30 pm on Tuesday.

The muggers had been on a motorbike, and had beaten him with an iron rod before stealing his wallet, said the police.

The victim sustained a one-inch cut above his left eyebrow, and injuries to his right arm, and was taken to the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital.

The case is under investigation by the police, but no arrests have been made, as of yet.
