After a brief interruption, the Family Court and Magistrate Courts in the country have once again resumed marriage service procedures.
The interruption was as a result of the situation in the Maldives with the Covid-19 pandemic virus. Marriage procedures inside the court rooms were halted upon the government closure, and the services were also halted out of court on March 15.
Family Court Registrar Ahmed Nasheed confirmed the news to “Sun” that marriage procedures inside the courtroom had recommenced. Out of court services were still on hold.
the time to attend the courts will be informed via email and Nasheed stated that specific date for marriage procedures have not yet been decided.
Arrangements to obtain the services of the Family court online have been made and application forms for marriage can now be submitted via email, said Nasheed.
