Economic Ministry has included additional measures to be completed before a foreigner can be brought to the Maldives for work.

The ministry made the decision following the Maldives Immigration decision which states that a migrant worker can only enter the country only after obtaining a special permit from the ministry under the employment approval rules. This affects employees who had departed from the country for holidays as well.

The employee must submit a form to the ministry 48 hours before arriving in the country.

This permit is in addition to the employment approval during the declared public health emergency in the country.

The form is available via the ministry website and should be submitted via email to [email protected]
