Popular television presenter Mariyam Waheeda has been appointed the Honorary Consul of Sweden.

The letter of appointment was presented to Mariyam Waheeda by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Shahid today at a ceremony held at the Foreign Ministry.

The Minister further discussed ways to strengthen ties with Sweden with Mariyam Waheeda.

The popular TV presenter was also on the board of the Maldives National Broadcasting Corporation (MNBC) and worked at TVM as a presenter and news anchor in the past.
