Transport Authority has made the decision to open the area of Ameer Ahmed Magu near the Islamic Center which is closed to vehicles.

Assistant Director of TA, Hussain Nazeer reported to ‘Sun’ this Tuesday morning that the area will be opened to vehicles within one week.

“The street will be opened within one week. It’s the street where Bandaara Koshi is located. We plan on opening the marble-floor Medhuziyaaraih Magu as well. But no decision has been reached on that yet,” said Nazeer.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced his administration will “make the necessary changes to streets” and “open the streets necessary” in his first 100-day agenda.

The administration has also announced plans to allocate designated areas for loading and unloading cargo, establish designated parking areas for cars, trucks and motorcycles, establish a free parking area for airport staff and strengthen the Land Transport Act.
